EARTH EMBANKMENTS
GEO2 Engineering B.V. has extensive experience in the design of earth embankments.
In addition to our foundation and hydraulic engineering design services, we can also contribute towards the design of earth embankments. Aspects in which we are frequently involved are:
- Soil deformations under imposed loading from landfills;
- Soil/ground improvement techniques and measures to accelerate and control (consolidation) settlements;
- Slope stability in the construction and operational phase;
- Influence of (surrounding) objects.
We have gained a great deal of experience in the above-mentioned activities in tender and implementation phases, as well as monitoring supervision of applied fills during the realisation phase. We also interpret the monitoring data with our own ‘in-house’ developed spreadsheets, and present feedback to site management during construction.
