A9 BADHOEVEDORP-HOLENDRECHT
As part of the A9 Badhoevedorp-Holendrecht renovation, the motorway is being expanded, and part of it will be in a tunnel at Amstelveen.
GEO2 Engineering B.V. has been contracted by Iv-Infra to provide foundation advice and a construction pit design for five structures, including the Schiphol bridge.
A particular focus point for the Schiphol airport bridge is that the existing bridge needs to be retained and expanded on both sides while still in operation. Eventually, this expansions will be connected structurally to the existing bridge. The pile bearing capacity and modulus of subgrade reaction were determined for both the existing and new foundation piles as well as the interaction between these. A construction pit design was also undertaken for the above structure.
For all structures, reusing the existing foundation and expanding the foundation were taken into account in the foundation design. Again, the pile bearing capacity and modulus of subgrade reaction were determined for both the existing and new foundation piles.
