VIBRATION ANALYSES
For various projects at home and abroad, GEO2 Engineering B.V. has determined the vibrations occurring in the ground during the installation of piles, sheet piles, tubular piles, etc. Based on the method according to CUR166, but also on state-of-the-art methods, the accelerations in the ground and the transmission to adjacent structures are calculated. This is used to determine any compaction that may occur in sand layers and/or whether limit values are being exceeded on adjacent properties.
Contour plots can be used to determine what is within the sphere of influence of the vibration source.
Related to this, the risk of softening of the flow when sheet piling or tubular piling is driven into the water in an embankment has been identified for various projects. Where a potential risk is identified, appropriate control measures are proposed.
