Rakesh (1971) obtained his Degree in Civil Engineering from the Hogeschool of Amsterdamin 1996. After this study, Rakesh started his career in one of the largest geotechnical consulting organisations in the Netherlands. This is the origin of his enthusiasm for the specialist area of geotechnics. In the past 25 years, Rakesh has built up a rich experience with leading consultancy organisations and construction companies within the Netherlands and abroad.
Rakesh is committed to the increase of expertise and to the sharing of knowledge. In 2005 he successfully completed his study for the Degree of Master of Science in Soil Mechanics at the Imperial College in London. He is also associated with the University of Surinam as visiting Lecturer in Soil Mechanics.
Rakesh’s experience includes involvement in geotechnical projects embracing a wide range of magnitude and complexity, such as various forms of foundation projects, construction pits in built-up areas, dams, quays, offshore wind generation projects, and projects for public transport infrastructure.
In addition, Rakesh works as an ‘Expert Reviewer’ and has been a member of various CUR Committees.
Rakesh has been a partner and Senior Consultant in geotechnics since the formation of GEO2 Engineering B.V. in 2009. Current activities include the provision of geotechnical advice relating to a broad range of projects ranging from site-preparation for building construction to giving advice about serveral bridges, embankments and underpasses. Rakesh also plays an active role in the coaching of colleagues and contributes to the further development of the GEO2 organisation.
Rakesh is a strongly-motivated engineer who combines technical depth with practical designs which can be implemented.
