ir. J.P. (Arjan) Kochx
Geotechnical Engineer
a.kochx@geo2.nl
After completing a technical secondary education in Alkmaar (in Soil, Road and Waterway Construction), Arjan began his career with a large Dutch consultancy firm. After a year working in technical drawing, he took the opportunity during evening classes to develop his knowledge base in Civil Engineering at the Hogeschool in Amsterdam. He then decided to study further and in 2011 graduated from the Technical University of Delft with a Master’s Degree in Engineering Geology with a graduation thesis entitled ‘Filter Clogging’.
Arjan has worked with GEO2 Engineering B.V. since 2011. He has built up much experience with the design of foundations based on shallow and piled foundations, including the spans of the Botlek Bridge. He has been further involved in design and consultation for a large number of geotechnical projects of different sizes and complexities. These vary from working in project teams on so-called mega-scale projects such as the broadening of the A15 motorway in Rotterdam and the tunnelling of the A9 motorway near to Gaasperdam, to the engineering of smaller structures such as the design of wooden sheet pilings and the geotechnical analysis and verification of secondary dikes.
Within the projects described above, Arjan is an all-round committed team member who is always looking for a feasible and technically-underpinned solution.
* The ‘Ir.’ Diploma is the European equivalent of a Master’s Degree
