ir. M.K. (Max) Veerkamp
Geotechnical Engineer
Max obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Twente. He subsequently graduated from the Technical University of Delft in 2018 with a Master’s Degree in Geo Engineering. His graduation thesis was titled: “The suitability of gibbsite as aluminum source to complex with dissolved organic matter”.
Since January 2019, Max has been working as a geotechnical engineering consultant at GEO2 Engineering B.V.. He collaborates on various projects at GEO2. The work includes soil retaining structures and pile foundations such as for the deepening of Groningen's southern ring road and the Middelberterweg underpass.
Currently, Max is involved in the geotechnical DO design of the Oosterweel connection in Antwerp. The focus within this very challenging project is mainly on the deformation behaviour of the tunnel legs and beds for the structural calculations. In consultation with the structural engineers, geotechnical solutions are also sought where the force effects become too great.
Finally, Max is involved in piling and vibration analyses for domestic and foreign offshore projects.
Max is a studious engineer with a critical mindset and is always happy to take on new challenges.
*The ‘Ir.’ Diploma is the European equivalent of a Master’s Degree.
