ir. S.U. (Sjalome) Sordam
Junior Geotechnical Engineer
s.sordam@geo2.nl
Sjalome received his bachelor's degree in infrastructure from the Polytechnic College Suriname in 2019. During his graduation project, in which he researched alternative raw materials for shell sand in semi-paved roads, his interest in geotechnical engineering was piqued. In 2020, he embarked on a bridging programme to then pursue the Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering at TU Delft, where he successfully graduated in 2024.
For the master's thesis, Sjalome researched the influence of different constitutive models on simulations in Plaxis 2D, in order to test the safety of historical quay walls, mainly looking at the outcomes of an isotropic versus an anisotropic approach.
Since 1 November 2024, Sjalome has been part of GEO2 Engineering B.V. as a junior consultant in geotechnical engineering. With his acquired knowledge skills and his strong perseverance, he makes a valuable contribution to GEO2's team and projects.
